Here is the first positive for a new screen print, probably 3 colours. This is one of Helios horses, Helios was the personification of the Sun in Greek mythology. He drove the chariot of the sun across the sky each day. The chariot was pulled by four horses. Homer described Helios’s chariot as drawn by solar steeds. Later they became fiery steeds or “fire-darting steeds”. The horses were named Pyrois, Aeos, Aethon, and Phlegon.
Helios is often confused with the god of light, Apollo. However Helios was a Titan (descendants of Gaia (Earth) and Uranus (sky),the first generations of deities in greek mythology. Apollo was an Olympian,(a race of younger gods) the two races of Gods famously clashed in “The Titanomachy.” but that’s another story!
The best known story involving Helios is that of his son Phaëton, who attempted to drive his father’s chariot but lost control and set the earth on fire… oh dear!
